Happy Easter!

Hey guys,

I can't believe it's already Easter, I always love doing an Easter themed mani.  Pastels are pefect for Easter and I love pastels soooo much!  I did a gradient, for some reason gradients screamEaster to me.  At first I wasn't sure that the color combo I chose was going to turn out, but it ended up being so pretty.  Also please excuse the white towards the cuticles I just could not get the yellow to transfer close and so it left some of my white base showing.

I used all China Glaze for this mani:
Base- White On White
Gradient Colors- Secret Peri-Wink-Le, Pink Plumeria and Lemon Fizz
Glitter Top Coat: White Cap (which is kinda amazing over gradients fyi)

Thunderstorm Nails

Hey guys,

I found this blog post my Pshiiit and I love how she did the base and I thought I would try something similar.  Mine didn't turn out looking really similar to hers at all but it was what I was inspired by.  This reminds me of thunderstorm clouds, the pictures also do not do this mani justice.  It is darker looking and the glitter looks ten times better in real life.

For this mani I started with a base of Sally Hansen CSM Gray by Gray (not sure if this one is available anymore since the CSM line was redesigned).  I sponged OPI Do You Lilac It?,  Essie Turquoise and Caicos, and Color Club Get A Clue on random spots on my nails using small cut pieces of cosmetic sponge. I then topped them off with Sally Hansen CSM Snow Globe over the entire nail.  The technique for this mani is similar to doing galaxy nails, however the are some differences so I may post a tutorial on this one for you all.

Raibow Water Marble

Hey guys,

Sorry for the lack of posts recently I have really been into doing much to my nails, but I think I am getting out of this funk now so I should have more manis soon!  This was my third time trying water marble nail art.  I really hate the process and I am not very good at it at all.  I like how this one turned out and it is a mani I have been wanting to do for almost two years.  Also I didn't tape off my fingers or us any Vaseline so sorry if there is some stray polish on my fingers in the pics I thought I got all of it but I noticed some when cropping my pics.

I used a base of Essie Topless and Barefoot, the for the water marble I used Wet N Wild Everybody Loves Redmond, China Glaze Papaya Punch, China Glaze Lemon Fizz, Essie Mojito Madness and Sinful Colors Why Not. I then topped it off with a coat of inm Northern Lights Holographic Topcoat.

Blue Mix N' Match

Hey guys,

I have no idea what to call this one and I know I already have a few mix and match mani's on here but I am drawing a blank, haha.  I was just playing around with my acrylic paint again and figured I would show you guys how this one turned out.  I really don't like the leopard print it just doesn't look right.  Anyways hope you enjoy!

I used Sinful Colors Endless Blue and white and pink acrylic paint

Girly Floral

Hey guys,

I am so loving really cute girly nails lately!  This one started as me just kinda playing with my acrylic paints and I liked how it turned out.  I used Orly Lollipop and China Glaze White Cap for the base then painted the flowers and leaves using acrylic paints.

Private Show

Hey guys,

So I finally was able to find Pure Ice Private Show at my Wal Mart the other day, which is a dupe for Butter London The Black Knight!  I have wanted The Black Knight for a long time but just wasn't willing to dish out the money for it so I was so excited to find a dupe for it.  If anyone remembers last year around the holidays there was a set released with The Black Knight and Tart With a Heart and I saw a ton of pics using this combo and I loved the look of it so I used my Tart With a Heart dupe ( Nina Ultra Pro Holographic Topcoat).

St. Patricks Day

Hey guys,

I did a quick and cute mani for today.  I used China Glaze Running In Circles for my base, I then used a large dotting tool to apply Revlon Top Speed Jaded and a small dotting tool to apply Essie Mojito Madness.

Toothbrush Nail Art

Hey guys,

So The Nailasaurus posted a tutorial using a toothbrush the other day and really liked the idea of it so I decided to give it a try.  It is really easy and you literally need a few nail polishes and a cheap toothbrush to do this!  A few tips that The Nailasaurus also metions, make sure your base is completely dry before starting this and really load the toothbrush up with polish to get it to transfer on your nails.

I used Orly Lollipop, China Glaze Aquadelic, Orly Skinny Dip and Finger Paints 15 Minutes of Frame

Striping Tape Experiment

Hey guys,

So I made a franken the other day with China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy.  My Flip Flop Fantasy was getting really low and I decided I would get a new one and just have some fun with the rest of it.  I added white and a little bit of a neon orange and the color turned out gorgeous!  So I did a mani with my franken and the topped it with China Glaze White Cap.  I was bored and decided to play with my striping tape I went with another neon, Nina Ultra Pro Pearly Brights.  Pearly Brights isn't that far off from my franken color so it was nice subtle look (if you call crazy bright coral neon subtle haha).

High On Hope

Hey Guys,

So I got one of the new Orly's from the Hope and Freedom Fest collection.  I only picked up High On Hope but I really want to grab the yellow and green from this collection as well.  This polish is a dusty, grayed out blue with a gorgeous pink duochrome shimmer running through it.  It applied okay but need 3 coats to be opaque.  It's really pretty but the shimmer didn't show up as much as I would like.  I decided to do a gradient with Orly Space Cadet because I thought the two of these polishes would look amazing together.  I was right they look really good together and I found that sponging on High On Hope made the pink shimmer appear so much better!  I would recommend sponging on the last coat of this polish to bring out this gorgeous shimmer.

Wait Teal You See!

Hey guys,

The other day I picked up one of the new Ombre kits from China Glaze, I got Wait Teal You See.  This set comes with White On White, Aquadelic, For Audrey and Turned Up Turquoise.  I actually only bought this set to get Aquadelic, but I figured I would give this Ombre/Gradient a try.  If you frequent my blog then you will know that I love a good gradient mani.  The set comes with four nail polishes and ten sponges to do the gradient with.  I went ahead and used the sponge that comes with the kit, however I do not recommend them.  I would much rather use my cheapie makeup sponges I get from Dollar Tree.  With that being said I still like the outcome it just much harder for me to work with the sponge than my usual one.  On a sidenote I could not get Turned Up Turquoise to show up for me in the pics not matter what lighting I used so the pics are not very accurate.  So sorry about that!

I used the entire China Glaze Ombre set Wait Teal You See! and topped the mani off with inm Northern Lights Holographic Topcoat

Please excuse the Instagram photo, it's the only pic I have of the packaging!

New Hard Candy Glitters

Hey guys,

On a recent trip to my WalMart I found a nice untouched display of the new Hard Candy polishes!  Once I saw them in person I ended up only getting two of them.  I did like some of the others but I only got the ones I had really wanted originally.  I got Black Tie Optional and Party Central.  I was really excited for these two because the remind me of indie glitters and I love the manistream companies are really paying attention to what is popular right now.

Black Tie Optional, this one is similar to Lynnderella Connect the Dots or Lush Lacquer Salt N Peppa minus the shimmery base.  It applied really nicely and I didn't have to fish for some of the larger glitters.  This is Black Tie Optional over China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On

Party Central, this glitter has mix of copper, blue, purple and white glitter.  I love this one because of the white glitter, it is nice surprise to add into the mix.  I did have to fish some of the larger white glitters out of the bottle for this one it also was a little bit harder to apply so I had to use dabbing motions to get this one on the nail evenly. This is Party Central over China Glaze Fancy Pants

Fancy Pants

Hey guys,

Today I am showing you the other polish I got from the China Glaze Avant Garden collection, Fancy Pants.  This was the only other one that I felt I really needed/wanted.  I am really loving this one, it's a gorgeous blue leaning purple with a dark pink shimmer running through it.  The formula on this one was a little thick but went on pretty good and only required two coats to be opaque.  I did thin this one after applying it on my nails and ended up using it as my pedi color.  Once I thinned it the application was much easier and it was still opaque in two coats.  Also this one was a hard one to capture in photographs, I tried to adjust the color as much as I could to get it accurate, the last pic is the closest but in real life it is more purple toned than blue toned.

Keep Calm, Paint On

Hey guys,

I got a couple of the China Glaze Avant Garden polishes the other day and this one is the one I wanted the most out of the entire collection.  It is a gorgeous light mint polish with white shimmer running through it.  The formula on this was a little on the thick side and I used 3 coats to even it out.  I thinned it after application so I am hoping next time I use it the application will be a bit easier and I can maybe get away with 2 coats instead.  Even though the formula was a bit tricky the color self-leveled really nicely and I really like this nail polish.  Also how cute is the name!?!?

Across the Universe

Hey guys,

I saw this Across the Universe tutorial by Totally Cool Nails on Youtube and I pretty much went and instantly re-created it.  Across the Universe is one of my favorite movies and I love what she came up with for this inspired mani.  In hindsight I wish I had done my dots way smaller or actually skipped that step but I still think they turned out pretty cool.

I used Color Club Naughty-Cal Navy, Orly Royal Navy, Orly Dayglow, inm Northern Lights Holographic Topcoat, and red and green acrylic paint.
