Neon Sponging

Hey guys,

I am sorry for not posting this past week, I have been under the weather for the past couple of weeks and I am just now starting to feel better. This mani is one that I did about a week ago and am just getting around to posting.  Also there may not be a post for a day because I broke my index fingernail pretty badly and I want to wait a little bit before taking pics.  For this mani I just used my cosmetic sponge to place color onto my nails randomly, very similar to the technique for galaxy nails except for I made sure to get the colors opaque.

Base: Revlon Top Speed Cloud
Sponging Colors: Orly Skinny Dip, Orly Glowstick, and Color Club Electro Candy
Glitter: Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter

Pudding Lane

Hey guys,

I completely forgot that I had yet to wear the other Nails Inc. Sprinkles polish that I bought a month or so ago.  This one is Pudding Lane, it has a bright blue base with gold, dark blue and purple glitter running through it.  I decided to use a base for this one because I really don't like how these polishes apply without a base, very patchy and take several coats to get opaque.  For the base I used Essie In the Cab-ana, which is pretty spot on for the base color of Pudding Lane.  I only had to apply one coat of each color to get it nice and opaque too!

Tribal Striping Tape

Hey guys,

I played around with my striping tape this weekend and I think I am finally getting the hang of this striping tape!  I love the design I came up with on my middle finger, I think it looks so cool.

I used OPI My Vampire Is Buff, Essie First Timer and Orly Shine

Bunting Birthday Nails

Hey guys,

So it's my Birthday today and I wanted to do something fun and cute for my nails.  I have seen a few pics of bunting nails floating around Pinterest and I thought this might be a cute idea for Birthday nails.  I will say this was not the easiest nail art for me to do. The design really is not very forgiving so you have to be really steady with this one.  I like how it turned out but I wish my lines had been more crisp.  I used a base of China Glaze Bahamian Escape and acrylic paint for the bunting.

Impressionist Flowers

Hey guys,

I have a really neat mani to show you all today.  I have really been enjoying experimenting with different types of nail art lately, especially things that I would not have thought to try before.  For this look I was inspired by Impressionist paintings, I love Impressionism it probably one of my favorite art movements.  If you are wondering what Impressionism is I suggest you Google it, Monet is probably the most well known Impressionist.  However my favorite would be Edgar Degas, I love his art, I actually did a research paper on him when I was in high school for one of my art classes.

To achieve the look for this mani I used nail polish thinned out with acetone.  I started with a base of OPI Skull and Glossbones I then used Essie First Timer, Essie In the Cab-ana and China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise thinned with acetone to paint flowerery shapes onto my nails.  I then used Essie Mojito Madness thinned wiht acetone and dotted it around the flower shapes to get a leaf effect.  I am in love with this mani, I wish it would photograph a bit better.  It show too much detail in the photos because of darn macro, but in real life this has lovely blurred look.

The Return of the Thunder Mani

Hey guys,

So I have not done a Thunder themed mani in almost a year!  If you have seen any of my older posts I did quite a few nails inspired by the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team.  I am an Okie and I love my Thunder.  Anyways I figured it was time to do another one.  This mani was so hard to get color accurate, the orange and blue kinda freaked my camera out.  I did my best to edit the photos to as close to what they look like in real life.   Hope you enjoy!

I used Essie In the Cab-ana and acrylic paint

The blue is somewhat close to real life in this pic, it is more saturated though and leans I tiny bit more teal than straight blue

Ugh I dunno the lighting is not well in this one but I feel like you can see the design better
