Girly

Hey guys,

I have got a cute new Revlon polish today.  Seriously I am loving some of the polishes they have been making lately, especially their glitters!  I picked up this one (Girly), Heavenly and their new matte top coat.  I will probably be doing a mani with Heavenly next and I tried out the matte topcoat and it is great.  I did a coat of Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink and then 2 coats of Girly.  This polish is exactly what the name says it is, it a pale pink jelly base with pink, magenta and purple glitter.  It is pretty gritty and I used Seche Vite then a coat of OPI I Juggle...Men to smooth it out.

Palette Cleanser

Hey guys,

I have a nice palette cleansing mani today.  After all the Holiday glitter bombs and nail art I needed something refreshing.  I love the look of these two polishes together.  It is very soft and subtle, but still has a fun element to it with the glitter.

I used OPI Bubble Bath and Nina Ultra Pro Holographic Topcoat

Christmas Eve!

Hey guys,

This is my mani for Christmas Eve today.  I am going to try to use this Party Hearty dupe as much as I can haha.  I will probably post my Christmas nails tomorrow and it will more than likely include it as well.

I used Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Fog and Salon Perfect Glam Glitter

Christmas Candy Gradient

Hey guys,
I love this combo!  It looks like candy on my nails and I think the pink looks so pretty with the festive glitter.  FYI the brush on this Salon Perfect glitter is awful, I need to empty it into a different bottle.

I used China Glaze Dance Baby and Salon Perfect Glam Glitter

Holiday Polka Dots

Hey guys,

Here is yet another holiday look from me.  Sorry I love my themed mani's and I thought this one would be cute but really simple too.  I love the color combo and I really like throwing a pretty minty/aqua color in to a holiday themed mani.

I used Finger Paints Tiffany Imposter and Orly Torrid

Green Christmas Gradient

Hey guys,

I have a green gradient to show today.  I like this although I wish I had added a third color to help this blend a little better.  I started off with Revlon Top Speed Jaded and Essie Mojito Madness.  I sponged on the gradient after applying one coat of Jaded to my nails.  Then I applied a coat of inm Northern Lights Holographic top coat over to help blend and smooth things out.  I also found a dupe for China Glaze Party Hearty!  It is by Salon Perfect Glam Glitter, it is from what I can tell almost and exact dupe of Party Hearty.  I added a coat of it on top of my gradient and I love the way it looks.

Cross Accent Nail

Hey guys,

I had no idea what to call this one haha. I found a pic somewhere (Pinterest, Beautylish, Instagram?) that inspired this mani, but I cannot find it anywhere!  It was pink and had a gold cross accent with gold hex glitter.   If you know who did it or have seen this mani somewhere please let me know.  Anyways, I was feeling a vampy color so I went with OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest and then used Milani Jewel FX Gold for the cross.  Sorry my cross kind of sucks, I need to practice this more.

Whimsical

Hey guys,

So I decided to try Revlon Whimsical with a white base.  I have used this color plenty of times but it has always been over a pastel that really doesn't show the true base color of Whimsical.  I did two coats of Orly Au Champagne then two coats of Whimsical.  I was surprised that it still looked almost white, I expected it to be bluer than it was.  I still really like it though, it has a soft wintery look to it.

Christmas Sweater Nails Take Two

Hey guys,

I tried out the Christmas Sweater Nails again, this time taking more time.  I like how these turned out, although I like the base of the first ones I did better than this one.  Honestly these are really hard to do and I redid a couple of the nails a few times.  The one thing that is really nice about using acrylic paint is that you can wash the paint off your nails and try again if you mess up.  It isn't nearly as frustrating if you have to redo since you don't have to completely remove polish with remover and start all over again.

I used China Glaze Running In Circles and white and red acrylic paint

Birthday Nails

Hey guys,

My moms Birthday is today so I decided to do a fun mani for it.  I wanted glitter obviously and I have been really wanting to try a darker base with a lighter glitter.  I also wanted to mattify it because I love the way glitter looks with matte top coat!

I used China Glaze Stone Cold, Lush Lacquer Slumber Party, and Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love top coat

Running In Circles

Hello,

I finally found the China Glaze Cirque collection after searching for an entire week for it!  Once I found it though I really only found one color out of all of them that I really wanted.  But it was worth it for just this one.  Running In Circles is an amazing green micro glitter polish.  I took a million pictures of this one trying to get it just right.  Still these pics do it no justice, it is truly gorgeous in real life.  It has an almost duo-chrome quality about it, especially in the bottle, the shimmer flashes a yellow green to an almost blue green.  Soooo flipping pretty.

Cold As Ice

I wanted to do a icy looking mani so I came up with this one.  I used a base of Sinful Colors Cinderella, it a pale blue with pink micro shimmer.  I really like the look of it but it takes 3-4 coats to get opaque and streak-less.  I then added a coat of China Glaze Luxe and Lush.  This on is like irridecent shards of mylar.  It is really cool looking but again another pain to work with.  Luxe and Lush is somewhat lumpy because of the shards so you need to use a coat or two of a really thick top coat to help smooth them.  I used 2 coats of Gelous base coat over it then a coat of Seche Vite.  I really wasn't sure if I liked this one very much, not to mention I had like 12 coats of polish on my nails when it was all said and done!

Christmas Jelly Sandwich

Another Christmas/Holiday mani today.  Sorry I just can't get enough of Christmas themed nails right now!  I wish the jelly polish had come out whiter than it did, I guess I need to find a different white jelly than the one I have because it always seems to look more like a pale yellowish nude than a white on me.   I used OPI Don't Touch My Tutu!, my Christmas glitter franken and INM Northern Lights top coat.

Christmas Sweater Nails

I found this video by ArcadiaNailArt on YouTube.  I thought it was so cute I just had to try and recreate it.  This was my first time trying out acrylic paint for nail art as well so I will apologize if these are not the best.  My thoughts on acrylic so far, it is was easier to work with than nail polish.  I will have to practice more to get the hang of it but so far I think I will definitely be using it more for nail art.

I used Finger Paints Tiffany Imposter and white and red acrylic paint sealed with topcoat.

First Snowfall

I have a kind of holiday inspired look today.  I think this is a really easy way to do "holiday" nails  without having to do any kind of nail art.  I used Sinful Colors Rise and Shine and OPI Piroutte My  Whistle.  I thought that the glitter looked a lot like falling snow and with the green base it look even more like snow.

Pastel Galaxy

I wanted to try something a different today, I got the idea to try out pastel galaxy nails.  I am not sure how much I like this one though.  I think I should have done a different color combo or a different base for them.

I used Orly Pure Porcelain for the base, and sponged on Orly Skinny Dip, Color Club Electro Candy, Finger Paints Lemon Sour, Finger Paints 15 Minutes of Frame, Wet N Wild Buffy the Violet Slayer and topped it all with Cover Girl City Lights.

Sparklicious Gradient

I did this reverse gradient with L'Oreal Sparklicious, a gorgeous glitter from their holiday collection.  This glitter is serious perfection, it is such a light gold it is almost silver but is still appears gold. Haha sorry that is a weird description of it, really this polish is a cooler toned version of China Glaze Blonde Bombshell, which is probably one of my favorite glitters ever, except for there are no tiny bar glitters in this one.  I wanted to try it with a gradient first but it would look really good over a bunch of different polishes and is a perfect accent nail color.

I used Color Club High Society and L'Oreal Sparklicious

Also on a side note I am working on the way I take my pictures and the lighting, so I will appoligize in advance if my pictures are cropped differently or the lighting is different than usual.  I am just working on improving my photo quality!

Galaxy Drip Nails

I have seen a few different creations of these galaxy drip nails floating around Pinterest lately and I really wanted to try them.  I thought they would be a lot easier than they were!  The hardest part was trying to keep the drips crisp looking while attempting to make the galaxy pattern.  I started with a pastel blue polish from Cosmetic Arts that I don't have a name for.  I then painted the drips with Orly After Party and sponged on Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, Sweet Peacock and Essie Mojito Madness.  After that I applied a coat of Wet N Wild's Hallucinate over the entire nail and added a few glitters from China Glaze Snowglobe to the galaxies.

Candy Cane Cupcakes

I wanted to try a cupcake mani and ever since I got China Glaze Make Some Noise it has been begging for me to try a cupcake mani w/ it.  I didn't intentionally make them look like candy canes but that is what it ended up looking like to me.

I used China Glaze Make Some Noise, LA Colors Art Deco Red Glitter and an Amuse white nail art pen.  Oh and the little heart is from a nail art set I got at Dollar Tree.

Graphic Lines

I tried out another tape mani, I got this idea from Pshiiit she has done a tutorial on her blog for them. Her blog is all in french but she does picture tutorials for some of her mani's and she is awesome I love all of her mani's!  I started with 2 coats of China Glaze White Cap then I did two coats of Orly Winter Wonderland.  I was going to leave it but I really wasn't feeling this mani so I experimented.  I used small triangular strips of tape and applied them to both sides of my nails to get a random pattern.  I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Jumpin' Jade.  I also wanted to mattify this one to see how it would look.  I got a different matte top coat the other day by NYC and I am not liking it very much, it doesn't look matte enough for me, I like my Hard Candy one way better.  Now for the pics....

China Glaze White Cap w/ Orly Winter Wonderland

So much better with the added stripes

this matte top coat gives a more rubbery looking finish that I don't really care for

Hope you enjoyed, sorry this was a long rambling post!

Some Exciting News

Hey guys just something fun and exciting to share with you all.  My Poison Ivy nails were featured in an article on Beautylish about Holiday manicure ideas!  You can find the post here, they used the matte version that I showed in my original post.

Christmas Glitter Gradient

Can I go ahead and start doing Christmas nail art now?  I having been itching to do some holiday themed nails and I think since Thanksgiving has passed it is appropriate.  My base is China Glaze Make Some Noise and the glitter is a franken.  I used an Wet N Wild mini from a few holidays ago it is a red glitter with large hexagon and small round glitter pieces, then I used the silver hexagon glitter from Sally's Girl and Sinful Colors Call You Later which is a green and gold glitter mixture.  I was going for a China Glaze Party Hearty esque franken (man I regret never getting this one!), it is not an exact dupe but it will do!

Make Some Noise

I grabbed this the other day, it came out with China Glaze's spring 2012 collection.  It's a red/coral color that leans more red than coral.  I love it, really nice formula and super shiny, almost jelly like shine but with full coverage.

Lively Lilac

It has been a crazy week, wish I had been able to post a little more but I just couldn't.  I did this mani earlier this week, I thought it was really cute.  I love pastels!

I used Sally Hansen Lively Lilac and Revlon Whimsical

Poison Ivy

Oh goodness this mani is frickin awesome!  I can't even stand it, it looks so glowy and gorgeous.  I wanted to try Wet N Wild's Poison Ivy again because the first time I wore it I did a horrible job of applying it and I couldn't get any good pics of it.  So this time around I super nubbinized my nails and slapped it on being extra careful to not flood my cuticles, this one is really hard to clean up if you get it on your skin.  I felt like it needed a little something else so I applied a couple of coats of Pure Ice Heart Breaker over it.  Heart Breaker made this polish look insane.  After looking at it I wanted to try it with a matte top coat so I did that as well haha.  Hope you enjoy!

I used Wet N Wild Poison Ivy, Pure Ice Heart Breaker and in the last two pics Hard Candy Matte-Ly In Love
