Happy Halloween!

I can't believe it is already Halloween!  The Holidays are just around the corner, time goes by so fast.  I wanted something sort of creepy to wear today but I wanted it to be creepy/blingy haha.  I love how this mani turned out and the red glitter is a nice unexpected touch I think.

I used Orly Au Champagne, Sinful Colors Ruby, Ruby, and China Glaze Ring In the Red

Cute Halloween Themed Nails

Hey guys this was mani I did a few days ago.  Sorry it is not the best pic but it was really cute.  Also I have made a Facebook page for my blog if you would like to go like it!

I used Wet N Wild Black Creme and China Glaze Papaya Punch

Abbey Bominable

I am going to do a little series of mani's inspired by Monster High dolls.  I already did Frankie Stein and today I am doing Abbey Bominable the Daughter of the Yeti.  My kiddo loves these dolls and I think they are so cool.  I love the supernatural and can imagine I would have been obsessed with these dolls if they had been around when I was little.

I used Orly Snowcone, China Glaze Make a Spectacle, OPI Do You Lilac It?, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Bubblegum Pink, Orly Dayglow and OPI I Juggle...Men

and a pic of Abbey to see where I pulled my inspo from

Spiderwebs

I am trying to churn out as many Halloween themed nails before Wednesday as possible haha.  I always have all these ideas for Halloween mani's and then time gets away from me and I end up not doing most of the ones I planned on!

I used Wet N Wild Black Creme, Color Club Pucci-Licious, Cover Girl City Lights and a silver striper polish

Nightmare Before Christmas

I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, it is one of my favorites around Halloween and Christmas haha.  I went with a Jack and Sally inspired mani.  It was hard to decide on exactly how to do this one but I like what I went with.  Sorry for the Jack face not being the best, my polish was drying too fast so it was getting tacky as I was trying to paint the eyes.

I used Wet N Wild Black Creme, Orly Au Champagne, China Glaze Electric Beat, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Grey Area, and white and black striper polishes.

Blood Splatter

Here is another Halloween mani, I love doing blood splatter nails for Halloween!  This is probably my favorite nail look for this time of year.  I did a different base color than I would usually choose.  Mainly because the color kind of washes my hands out and I thought that may give a nice effect.

I used China Glaze Fast Track (really pretty but does not go well at all with my skintone) and Finger Paints Signed In Wine, in real life this color splattered looks a lot like the color of dried blood.

Mojito Madness

Again with another green nail polish!  I don't know what it is but I have been so drawn to greens lately, it seems to be the only color I want to use.

I used Essie Mojito Madness and China Glaze Make A Spectacle (I kinda want to put this glitter over everything!!)

Frankie Stein

I have another Halloween mani today, this one is inspired by one of my daughters Monster High dolls.  Frankie Stein, is the daughter of Frankenstein, I tried to use a nail polish as close to her skin color as possible and added some black stitches like she has.

I used Essie Navigate Her and a black nail art striper

Frostbite

This is one of my favorite China Glaze's.  Frostbite is a shimmery royal blue polish that seriously almost glows on the nails.  I paired this one with one of the China Glaze Prismatics, I love them and they make great accent nails.

I used China Glaze Frostbite and Liquid Crystal

Sweet Angel

Ok I have another feather look today, this is the one I did while doing my feather tutorial.  This may be a cute nail idea if you  are going as an Angel for Halloween???

I used Cosmetic Arts no name polish (I think this is Blue Light but not 100% sure), China Glaze Make A Spectacle, Orly Shockwave and a white striper polish.

I really love how Make A Spectacle look over this baby blue polish!

Feather Tutorial

Alright I finally have another tutorial up for you guys.  This is really pretty simple and I will give you guys some tips and tricks as well.

I used Orly Shockwave and a white striper polish

Step 1: Choose a base color and paint a couple of coats and let dry for 10-15 minutes

Step 2: Paint a diagonal stripe on your nail, it needs to be fairly thin and try to taper it at the tip

Step 3: Begin drawing the feather with short strokes making them longer at the base and shorter as you get to the tip of the feather.  It is easier to start farther away and pull the strokes towards your line.

Step 4:  Let the design dry for 15-20 minutes and then apply a top coat, careful to not streak your design!

Now some tips!  Make sure to wipe off most of the polish on the neck of the bottle when doing this design.  Doing this helps you to get more feathery looking strokes which is obviously what we are going for.  Also if you have covered up some of the stem of the feather once you are done you can go back over it a little bit with the striper again.  This design drys pretty quickly because you are almost dry brushing it so it makes for an easy quick nail art design.  Don't worry about every feather looking the same either they will all look different and that is what is so pretty about this look.  Also don't place them all in the same spot on each nail it looks more delicate if the are going in different directions on each nail (see my other feather mani here to get an idea of what that looks like).

Hope you enjoy trying these out you can comment or e-mail me if you have more questions about this design.

Fallen Angel

I had a hard time trying to come up with a name for this one.  I am not sure how fitting Fallen Angel is but I like it.  This was actually some what inspired by The Black Swan.  Also I promise I am doing a tutorial soon on these feathers, hopefully it will be one of my next couple of posts.

I used Zoya Maura, Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris, LA Girls Glitter Addict Animate, Wet N Wild Hallucinate, a black and a white nail art striper.

Rare and Radiant

I have another one of the China Glaze New Bohemian to show today.  I grabbed a few more of them last weekend when Sally's was having their half off clearance sale.  Seriously that is the best sale ever I got this polish for like $1.68.  Also sorry for no natural light pics it has been overcast all week pretty
much.

Evolving Mani

I decided to add something to my China Glaze Trendsetter mani.  I was hoping this would look Halloween-esque but I am not sure if I achieved that.  I used tape for the stripes and a dotting tool for the dots.

China Glaze Trendsetter, Essies As Gold As It Gets and Wet N Wild On A Trip

Trendsetter

I have been into green nail polish the past few days. Which is funny because I used to hate green so much.  I also included a bonus pic of another green polish that was not wanting to photograph right at all!

China Glaze Trendsetter with Essie As Gold As It Gets

and the bonus Wet N Wild Poison Ivy from the Halloween collection this one is so pretty but I had a really hard time capturing it, also I have some awful tip wear and the flash was crazy in this pic

Skull and Glossbones

My first Halloween mani yipee!  I love doing Halloween nails, I have quite a few more planned throughout the month as well.  I went with a subtle one this time.  For the skull accent I found this great tutorial on Swatch and Learn it's really pretty easy to paint onto the nail.  I did have a few issues and actually redid the accent several time before I got it right.  Honestly the first time I didn't wait for the black polish to dry long enough and ended up smearing it really bad.  Then I redid it and forgot and ran my fingers through my hair!  I tried it again and messed it up again, did it one more time and tried a fastdry black nail polish for the eyes so I wouldn't have to wait so long to put topcoat on and this helped sooooo much.

I used OPI Skull and Glossbones, China Glaze Make A Spectacle (omg love so much!), Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris (for the eye sockets) and a black Amuse nail art pen for the teeth.

A Sort of Fall Mani

Now that the 31 Day Challenge is over I am a little lost on what to do with my nails.  I have a few Halloween mani's that I plan on doing but I would like to come up with a few more.  I had done a very "Halloween" looking mani but it chipped like crazy before I could take pics of it.  So I decided to try out this combo and I personally am loving it like crazy.  The color combo might not be everyones cup of tea, but I think it is awesome.

I used China Glaze Four Leaf Clover and Finger Paints Fall of Surprises

Also Four Leaf Clover would not photograph accurate at all, it is darker and has way more green in it than what these pics show.

31 Day Challenge, Day 31 Recreate a Manicure You Love (with link)

The end is here!  Haha I cannot believe I actually finished this challenge, it was hard sometimes and I really wanted to give up about half way through.  But I stuck with it and I am really happy I did.  So for this last challenge I tried to recreate this grunge mani by Nails Adored.  I have seen these kind of grunge/acid wash nails around Pinterest and I figured now was a good time to try them out.  Mine didn't turn out looking exactly like hers did but I did use all of the exact same polishes as her except for the black.

I used Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris, Color Club Wham Pow!, Chelsea Girl, Warhol, and Twiggie.

Hope everyone has enjoyed this challenge, I can't wait to start some of my Halloween nail ideas next!

31 Day Challenge, Day 29 Inspired by the Supernatural

This was another hard one for me I couldn't think of what to do.  Really because I have a bunch of ideas for Halloween and I kind of didn't want to use one of those for this haha.  In the end I went with a vampiric inspiration, I love how this mani turned out.  To me it looks like a mani a vampire would wear on their nails!

I used Finger Paints Signed In Wine and Color Club Red Velvet
