Update

Hey guys,

So sorry I haven't posted in almost a month!  My work schedule is a little redic right now and my kiddo has just gone back to school so I have been super busy.  I am hoping to get a few posts up early next week, one being the fan brush watercolor tutorial.  But for now I can post a couple phone pics I have taken of some recent mani's.  Sorry the quality is not awesome on these, I really wish I had taken the time to get proper pics of them!


First up is a mani I got from this tutorial by MrCandiipants on YouTube.  I used Maybelline Canary Cool as my base, my watercolor colors are Essie Tart Deco, Finger Paints Lemon Sour, Sinful Colors Orange Cream, Orly Terracotta and my orange pastel neon franken, and the dots are also Canary Cool

Second is Wet N Wild I Need a Refresh-mint (new version I will do a comp soon) and Revlon Whimsical, this is pretty similar to several mani's I have done before but I am a sucker for Whimsical over pastel mints and blues!

80's Inspired Nail Art

Hey guys,

So some of my favorite bloggers have been doing some awesome nail art and I have become so inspired by them!  This mani is loosely inspired by Chalkboard Nails Hipster Mix and Match post, I really loved the color combination she chose and the little overlapped 3-D looking dots she did were so cool looking I had to give them a try.  Also I hate how my pinky turned out, I really should have redone it but I was too lazy to do that.

Colors used: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Coral Reef, Color Club Pucci-Licious, Essie In the Cab-ana, and a white striper polish

Metallic Dotticure

Hey guys,

I have got something completely different for me today.  I started with a really sheer off-white base and then added metallic dots in different sizes.  I just used three different sized dotting tools for this and I placed the dots randomly on my nail.  This looks so cool to me, I love the sheer base where you can see your natural nail through it, I can't wait to try this with other colors!


Colors used: Wet N Wild 2% Milk, Orly Luxe, Rage, and Dazzle

First Timer Mix N Match

Hey guys,

So I am a little obsessed with Essie First Timer, it is just the most perfect green color ever!  Although be warned that topcoat changes the color a little bit, it makes it pull more yellow toned.  Even with topcoat I love the color though.  I wanted to play around with some mix and match nails so this was what I came up with.  For the stripes I used striping tape and for the dots I used one of my dotting tools.

Colors used: Essie First Timer, Orly Stone Cold and Orly Mermaid Tale

Hey guys,

I did a quick and cute mani for today.  I used China Glaze Running In Circles for my base, I then used a large dotting tool to apply Revlon Top Speed Jaded and a small dotting tool to apply Essie Mojito Madness.

 

 

 

Do You Lilac It? Dotticure

Hey guys,

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, life has been a bit hectic.  I chopped my nails down really short because my middle fingernail on my right hand split and tore.  I hate breaking nails!  Anyways, I have been trying to come up with something cute and fun to do on my nails but I am feeling a little uninspired lately.  I went with a dotticure because it's easy and looks cute.

Holiday Polka Dots

Hey guys,

Here is yet another holiday look from me.  Sorry I love my themed mani's and I thought this one would be cute but really simple too.  I love the color combo and I really like throwing a pretty minty/aqua color in to a holiday themed mani.

Evolving Mani

I decided to add something to my China Glaze Trendsetter mani.  I was hoping this would look Halloween-esque but I am not sure if I achieved that.  I used tape for the stripes and a dotting tool for the dots.

31 Day Challenge, Day 11 Polka Dots

I love dotted mani's but it took me forever to decide what to do for this one.  I went with a red and white combo, even though I have done this one before I have wanted to re-create it for a while and I used different polish as well.  I call this my Minnie Mouse nails!

I used Sinful Colors Ruby, Ruby, China Glaze Ring In the Red, and Orly Dayglow

 

 

 

 

 

 

31 Day Challenge, Day 9 Rainbow

At first I figured I would just do skittles for this one but I decided to try something different.  I have seen this mani on either Pinterest or Beautylish and loved it so I figured it would be perfect for this challenge.  This is what is nice about doing this challenge to, it has made me try new things!


I used LA Colors Color Craze Live, Zoya Maura, China Glaze Papaya Punch, Finger Paints Lemon Sour, Color Club Twiggie, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue.

Mix N' Match

I felt like some doing some over the top, cute nails today.  This is another inspiration from WAH Nails they are always doing these fun mix n' match nails and I also found an image on Pinterest from Little Nails that I used for inspiration as well.  I love them they are so cute!  I would like to try these out with a darker palette of colors too I think they would look less "springy".

I used Sinful Colors Rise and Shine, OPI Do You Lilac It?, China Glaze Dance Baby, Wet N Wild Hallucinate and a white striper polish from Amuse.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Metallic Dotticure

Cute polka-dot nails today!  I have seen a couple of pictures on pinterest of these metallic dotted manicures and figured I would try it out.  I used Essie French Affair and Orly Rage.  Rage is a gorgeous rose gold foil, but I always feel like it looks a little odd against my skin tone.  I think I have found a nice way to wear it without it looking weird on me!

Also as a side not I think I may do a tutorial on dotted mani's, but I am not sure if it something that anyone would want to see...

Thunder Up!

In honor of the OKC Thunder playing their first game against the Spurs tonight, I chose to do a Thunder mani. 

I used Orly Sweet Peacock and China Glaze Papaya Punch.  I used a dotting tool for the dots.  Enjoy and go Thunder!!!!! :D

Nail Art

I figured I would post a few nail art designs that I like to do today. 

First up is a dotticure, this pretty simple to do and all you need is a bobby pin or a toothpick.  I used and dotting tool which you can get at Sally's Beauty Supply.  This is Zoya Maura and Purity.  I love this one!

Next up are a couple of aztec mani's, these are some what hard to do especially when you are trying to do the nail art with your non-dominant hand.  But if you go slow and try to keep your hand steady it is pretty easy and turn out looking really cool.  I used pastels for both of these but you could use any color and they would look really good with just one base color instead of skittles.  I used a stripper polish from LA Colors, the Art Deco ones, you can find them in a bunch of different colors at Dollar Tree.

Lastly is a marbled manicure, this probably the only way I will ever where marbles as a few accent nails.  I am not the best at them and they are a pain in the butt to do from my experience.  But they look really cool when they are done.

Girly Nails

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, my computer has been acting up on me and all of my pictures are saved on it!  I decided to show you a few girly and probably over the top manis that I have done.


This first one were the nails for my birthday!  I used China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic on all the nails, then added New York Colors Love Letters over the top and for the accent nails I added Wet N Wild Sparked and Party of Five Glitters.  I loved the look of Fuchsia Fanatic with Love Letters over it, it was soooo pretty!

For this one I used China Glaze Gothic Lolita and Electric Beat and on the thumb I have OPI Simmer and Shimmer.  I love dotted mani's I think they are so cute and they can be toned down by doing tone on tone dots.

This last one was a manicure I did around Valentines Day, it is a bit over the top but I loved it.  I used OPI Pink Friday on all of the nails, then for the index and ring fingers I used China Glaze Crackle in Broken Hearted (haha fitting for V-Day no??), the heart on the middle finger is China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic and the thumb and pinky have China Glaze Techno.



I am going to try and get the sponged gradient tutorial up tomorrow if I find the time, but if not I promise it will be soon!
