Update

Hey guys,

So sorry I haven't posted in almost a month!  My work schedule is a little redic right now and my kiddo has just gone back to school so I have been super busy.  I am hoping to get a few posts up early next week, one being the fan brush watercolor tutorial.  But for now I can post a couple phone pics I have taken of some recent mani's.  Sorry the quality is not awesome on these, I really wish I had taken the time to get proper pics of them!

First up is a mani I got from this tutorial by MrCandiipants on YouTube.  I used Maybelline Canary Cool as my base, my watercolor colors are Essie Tart Deco, Finger Paints Lemon Sour, Sinful Colors Orange Cream, Orly Terracotta and my orange pastel neon franken, and the dots are also Canary Cool

Second is Wet N Wild I Need a Refresh-mint (new version I will do a comp soon) and Revlon Whimsical, this is pretty similar to several mani's I have done before but I am a sucker for Whimsical over pastel mints and blues!

Whimsical Gradient

Hey guys,

I was bored the other night and was randomly googling nail polish colors and came across Revlon Whimsical.  I have completely forgotten about this color for some reason and I decided I had to use it asap.  I would rate Whimsical as one of my top ten maybe even top five favorite polishes.  It looks so pretty over so many different colors and I especially love it over turquoise and blues.  For this mani I wanted to do something fun and different from some of the other Whimsical mani's I have done.  I did a gradient of purple and blue on my ring, middle and thumb, and then used just the purple on my pinky and the blue on my index finger.  I love how this turned out and the gradient with these two colors was kind of perfection.  I hope you enjoy!

Colors used: Essie In the Cab-ana, my neon franken and Revlon Whimsical

Seeing Stars

Hey guys,

I have a fun starry mani for you all today.  I used my bigRuby nail tattoos for this look and I really liked how this turned out, this mani reminded me of when I was a kid for some reason.

Colors used: Revlon Top Speed Luxe Lacque, Wet n Wild Sparked (for the thumb only), and OPI I Juggle... Men (I put two coats over all of my nails)

Neon Sponging

Hey guys,

I am sorry for not posting this past week, I have been under the weather for the past couple of weeks and I am just now starting to feel better. This mani is one that I did about a week ago and am just getting around to posting.  Also there may not be a post for a day because I broke my index fingernail pretty badly and I want to wait a little bit before taking pics.  For this mani I just used my cosmetic sponge to place color onto my nails randomly, very similar to the technique for galaxy nails except for I made sure to get the colors opaque.

Base: Revlon Top Speed Cloud
Sponging Colors: Orly Skinny Dip, Orly Glowstick, and Color Club Electro Candy
Glitter: Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter

St. Patricks Day

Hey guys,

I did a quick and cute mani for today.  I used China Glaze Running In Circles for my base, I then used a large dotting tool to apply Revlon Top Speed Jaded and a small dotting tool to apply Essie Mojito Madness.

Mani Spam

Hey guys,

I have been slacking on my blogging lately, sorry about that.  It just seems like there hasn't been enough time for anything the past few weeks and I got sick last week.  These are some random swatches of mani's that I took pics of but didn't really think they were worthy of a post.  Either because I didn't like how the pics came out or I did a crappy application or something.  I promise I will have some good posts really soon!

Girly

Hey guys,

I have got a cute new Revlon polish today.  Seriously I am loving some of the polishes they have been making lately, especially their glitters!  I picked up this one (Girly), Heavenly and their new matte top coat.  I will probably be doing a mani with Heavenly next and I tried out the matte topcoat and it is great.  I did a coat of Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink and then 2 coats of Girly.  This polish is exactly what the name says it is, it a pale pink jelly base with pink, magenta and purple glitter.  It is pretty gritty and I used Seche Vite then a coat of OPI I Juggle...Men to smooth it out.

Green Christmas Gradient

Hey guys,

I have a green gradient to show today.  I like this although I wish I had added a third color to help this blend a little better.  I started off with Revlon Top Speed Jaded and Essie Mojito Madness.  I sponged on the gradient after applying one coat of Jaded to my nails.  Then I applied a coat of inm Northern Lights Holographic top coat over to help blend and smooth things out.  I also found a dupe for China Glaze Party Hearty!  It is by Salon Perfect Glam Glitter, it is from what I can tell almost and exact dupe of Party Hearty.  I added a coat of it on top of my gradient and I love the way it looks.

Whimsical

Hey guys,

So I decided to try Revlon Whimsical with a white base.  I have used this color plenty of times but it has always been over a pastel that really doesn't show the true base color of Whimsical.  I did two coats of Orly Au Champagne then two coats of Whimsical.  I was surprised that it still looked almost white, I expected it to be bluer than it was.  I still really like it though, it has a soft wintery look to it.

Lively Lilac

It has been a crazy week, wish I had been able to post a little more but I just couldn't.  I did this mani earlier this week, I thought it was really cute.  I love pastels!

I used Sally Hansen Lively Lilac and Revlon Whimsical

31 Day Challenge, Day 25 Inspired by Fashion

I was actually inspired by the nails at the Lucian Matis Spring 2012 fashion show.  They did these watercolor nails and I this is where I found the tutorial and pics for this on BeautyGeeks it is pretty easy to do and the video is a great tutorial for them.

I used Revlon Top Speed Cloud for my base and the "watercolors" are Finger Paints Scarlet's Paint, China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic, and Ulta Blue Streak.

31 Day Challenge, Day 12 Stripes

I had done something else for this one but it turned out really awful and by the time I could take pics I had ruined the mani.  I went with something simple because honestly I could not come up with something interesting for this one!  I like the finished result though.

I used Revlon Top Speed Violet (love so hard), LA Colors Art Deco nail stripers in Bright Orange and Baby Pink

31 Day Challenge, Day 10 Gradient

Now here is a part of this challenge that's right up my alley.  I love a gradient nail, as you can tell if you visit my blog.   This one is similar to one I have done before but I used different polish to achieve it.  Honestly this one looks like cotton candy on my nails, it makes me wish the state fair was here already.

I used China Glaze Dance Baby, OPI No Room For the Blues and Revlon Whimsical.

Leopard Accent Mani

I did a cute leopard accent mani today.  Funny in the past I have tried the leopard thing before but was never able to get it to look right and then I decided to give it a try and it turned out really nice.  I think I will do a tutorial on this one soon.  I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Coral Reef, Wet N Wild I Need A Refresh-mint, Revlon Whimsical and OPI I Juggle Men...

Also sorry for the wrinkling of the black on the leopard spots it is I Juggle Men... it is really hard to work with and I really wish that I had not used it over the accent nails because it looked so good before I added that dang polish!

Modern Grace

I did a simple mani today!  I used Revlon Top Speed Modern Grace and Finger Paints Motley, which is a blue/green flakie polish.  I loved that Finger Paints came out with a bunch of different flakie polish but they need a lot of coats to get the look of something similar like Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure.  Anyways I like the end result and I used 2 coats of Motley for this it is really subtle but so pretty especially in the right light.

Fall of Surprises!

I picked up one of the new Finger Paints fall nail polishes , Fall of Surprises!, the other day.  I had seen some promo shots of them and I knew that I needed this one.  It is a copper glitter that has small round and larger hexagonal glitter in it.  It is packed with glitter and would probably be opaque on its own with two coats.

I decided to do a glitter gradient with this one and my base is Revlon Top Speed Royal.

Bubblegum Nails

Today I have a super cute manicure to show you guys.  I think this ranks as probably one of my favorite mani's ever.  It's very girly and cute, which isn't always my style, but I love this one a lot!

I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Bubblegum Pink, Revlon Whimsical over a nail polish that I mixed myself (fyi this is also known as a franken polish) it is similar in color to something like China Glaze For Audrey or Aquadelic, and some hexagonal large blue glitter that I got in a little nail art pack from Dollar Tree.

To apply the little blue glitter I took some regular top coat and put a dab on a piece of paper then I dipped a toothpick in to get a bit on the end of it, applied a small dot of the top coat to my nail, then picked up the glitter with the toothpick and placed it on the nail.  I did a layer of regular top coat over the entire nail  and then a coat of Seche Vite which is quick drying.  The extra layer of top coat helps the glitter to stay on better.

A Whimsical Mani

I was finally able to able to get my hands on a Revlon polish that I have been wanting for about 6 months, more if you consider that it is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann Glitter In the Air.  I love the pink and blue glitter mixture also the tiny blue glitter in this nail polish is beautiful, I don't know if it will show in the pics but it just makes the base color glow!

I used Orly Snowcone as a base with two coats of Whimsical on top.

Pastel Skittles

I love pastel nail polishes and spring is the best time to wear them!  This is probably one of my all time favorite manicures.

Polishes used from thumb to pinky, Orly Pure Porcelain, Orly Cotton Candy, Orly Gumdrop, Revlon Top Speed Modern Grace and Orly Snowcone, all topped with a coat of Cover Girl City Lights (can you tell I love City Lights??  Haha it's a great mani topper for almost any nail polish and there are several dupes out there such as China Glaze Fairy Dust.)
