31 Day Challenge, Day 31 Recreate a Manicure You Love (with link)

The end is here!  Haha I cannot believe I actually finished this challenge, it was hard sometimes and I really wanted to give up about half way through.  But I stuck with it and I am really happy I did.  So for this last challenge I tried to recreate this grunge mani by Nails Adored.  I have seen these kind of grunge/acid wash nails around Pinterest and I figured now was a good time to try them out.  Mine didn't turn out looking exactly like hers did but I did use all of the exact same polishes as her except for the black.

I used Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris, Color Club Wham Pow!, Chelsea Girl, Warhol, and Twiggie.

Hope everyone has enjoyed this challenge, I can't wait to start some of my Halloween nail ideas next!

31 Day Challenge, Day 29 Inspired by the Supernatural

This was another hard one for me I couldn't think of what to do.  Really because I have a bunch of ideas for Halloween and I kind of didn't want to use one of those for this haha.  In the end I went with a vampiric inspiration, I love how this mani turned out.  To me it looks like a mani a vampire would wear on their nails!

I used Finger Paints Signed In Wine and Color Club Red Velvet

31 Day Challenge, Day 28 Inspired by a Flag

31 Day Challenge, Day 27 Inspired by Artwork

This one was hard for me, I am a huge art lover and it was really hard for me to pick which way to go.  I decided to use Jackson Pollock's paintings as my inspiration.  It may not be very original, mainly because I do so many splatter mani's anyways, but I love his painting and it is probably one of the reason why I like splatter nails so much.  If you want to know how to do these see my tutorial here

I used Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris, Essie Mojito Madness, OPI Do You Lilac It?, and China Glaze Electric Beat.

31 Day Challenge, Day 25 Inspired by Fashion

I was actually inspired by the nails at the Lucian Matis Spring 2012 fashion show.  They did these watercolor nails and I this is where I found the tutorial and pics for this on BeautyGeeks it is pretty easy to do and the video is a great tutorial for them.

I used Revlon Top Speed Cloud for my base and the "watercolors" are Finger Paints Scarlet's Paint, China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic, and Ulta Blue Streak.

31 Day Challenge, Day 24 Inspired by a Book

Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days!  Work has been taking over a little and I have been getting a tiny bit "stuck" with my mani's for this challenge.  This was inspired by Harry Potter, I know it is probably overdone blah, blah, blah.  But honestly the Harry Potter series is one of my favorite and I saw a tutorial on Nailside for this lightening bolt and it screamed to be used as a HP mani design.

I used Finger Paints Magnetic Hipnotic and Orly Luxe

31 Day Challenge, Day 23 Inspired by a Movie

My inspiration for this challenge was The Hunger Games, more specifically Effie Trinket's nails.  If you google or get on youtube and search Effie Trinket nails I am sure quite a few tutorials will pop up for this one.  I have actually done a mani very similar to this way before the movie came out but I used a different gold for the gradient.   For this one I used China Glaze Strawberry Fields (probably the most gorgeous pink nail polish in the world) and China Glaze Blonde Bombshell.

31 Day Challenge, Day 22 Inspired by a Song

I used Prince's Purple Rain as my inspiration for this mani.  I really love how this one turned out and I have been wearing it for 5 days!  That is a record for me haha.

I used Finger Paints Amethyst Atelier and Orly Oui. I sponged Orly Oui with a eyeshadow sponge applicator to get the gradient effect.

31 Day Challenge, Day 21 Inspired By A Color

This challenge day is supossed to be inspired by a color.  I went with blue, mainly because it is my favorite color especially when it comes to nail polish.  I used China Glaze Bahamian Escape (my new favorite blue), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue and Sinful Colors Why Not.  For the little hearts I drew the hearts on a ziploc bag let them dry over night then took them off with tweezer applied a little top coat to my nail then placed the heart on followed by another coat of topcoat.  I will probably do a tutorial for the ziploc bag trick someday, it was my first time trying it and I think I will need to get the hang of it a bit more before I do one on it.

31 Day Challenge, Day 20 Water Marble

Ok so I am not an expert at all when it comes to water marbles, I have honestly done 3, including this one, so I apologize if this is not the best water marble you guys have ever seen.  I was inspired my The Polished Mommy she has done some really cool stuff with the China Glaze New Bohemian Collection and one of them was a water marble.  Definitely go check hers out because it is amazing!

I used Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris as a base, then I water marbled with China Glaze Unpredictable & Deviantly Daring, and OPI Just Spotted the Lizard.

Also this many looked so bumpy but it felt smooth to the touch, I think my topcoat made it bubble like crazy...

and an underwater one

31 Day Challenge, Day 18 Half Moons

I haven't done a half moon mani in forever, so I am a little rusty at it.   Also this cloudy overcast weather is killing me, it is so hard to get good pics with no sunlight!  I used the little french manicure guides for this one and I am not sure if it was the guides or something I did but they didn't turn out as curved as I would have like them to be.

I used China Glaze Stone Cold and Wet N Wild Disturbia

31 Day Challenge, Day 17 Glitter

I have been waiting on this one!  I picked up a polish at Sally's last weekend and I have been dying to try it out since then.  It's Nina Ultra Pro Holographic Topcoat, it is super gorgeous and is almost an exact dupe to Butter London Tart With A Heart.  I layered 2 coat of Holographic Topcoat over After Party.

31 Day Challenge, Day 16 Tribal

I love tribal designs on nails, but boy do I struggle with them.  It seems I always have something pictured in my mind about how it will turn out but I just cannot seem to translate that onto my nails haha.  I almost went with silver instead of black for the design, but changed my mind at the last minute.  I like working with lighter colors for free-hand nail art designs they are more forgiving than say black and I feel like they give a different look. Kinda wishing I had done silver as I continue to write this post but I guess that will be another mani :)

I used China Glaze Bahamian Escape and an Amuse nail art pen in black

31 Day Challenge, Day 15 Delicate

Hmm this one was one that I wracked my brain to come up with.  I don't do a lot of stamping and I don't have any "delicate" looking stamping plates so I had to free hand something.  I went with feathers, I really, really like this though.  The feathers were much easier to do than I thought they were going to be.

I used Color Club Get A Clue and an Amuse white nail art pen

31 Day Challenge, Day 14 Flowers

Day 14 already!  I went with something not so girly, I think, for this one.  I really like the black with the flowers it makes it not so springy looking haha.  For the flowers I did a dot of the red then a dot of the white and swirled them together with a pin.

I used Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris, LA Colors Art Deco nail striper Red, NYC French White Tip, and Orly Lucky Duck

Also so sorry about how awful my bottle of Lucky Duck looks my daughter has gotten a hold of it a few times.

31 Day Challenge, Day 13 Animal Print

This one drove me nuts!  I had to redo the leopard print twice and I still don't really like how it turned out.  I really like how the other nails look though!  Also sorry for the lack of pics, there is some yucky weather going on at the moment so I don't have any sunlight to work with.

I used Sinful Colors Bikini, OPI Pirouette My Whistle, NYC French White Tip and an Amuse black nail art pen.

Seriously Bikini may be one of the prettiest pink polish ever and Piroutte looks so good combined with it!

31 Day Challenge, Day 12 Stripes

I had done something else for this one but it turned out really awful and by the time I could take pics I had ruined the mani.  I went with something simple because honestly I could not come up with something interesting for this one!  I like the finished result though.

I used Revlon Top Speed Violet (love so hard), LA Colors Art Deco nail stripers in Bright Orange and Baby Pink
