Fourth of July Mani

I decided to try a Fourth of July nail look.  It's ok but it is for sure not my best work haha.  I will do something different for the fourth.

I used Orly Emberstone, Orly Royal Navy, LA Colors Color Craze silver hexagonal glitter and a white striper polish.  For the accents I did a jelly sandwich, doing 2 coats of Royal Navy, one coat of glitter and one more coat of Royal Navy.

Changed Layout

Sorry guys I changed the look of my blog again, I felt like the background was really distracting so I went with a simple one.

Neon To Nude Gradient

This is a really cute "on trend" manicure today.  Neon seems to be very popular this summer as well as nude colors and mixing them together is even better!  I like this a lot, although I think this will look best with a pink, red, coral, orange or yellow neons.  I feel like it would look odd with  green, purple or blue neon, but that could be just me haha.

I used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Without a Stitch as the nude (you could use any close to your skintone nude for this) and China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy which is my favorite neon of all time.

I did a coat of Without a Stitch first then used the Sponged Gradient technique with Flip Flop Fantasy and Without a Stitch.

Splattered Gradient

Oh my goodness I am sort of obsessed with this mani!  I did a gradient and then splattered over it, the finished look is so cool.

I did a white base (Orly Dayglow), then sponged with FingerPaints 15 Minutes of Frame, Sinful Colors Why Not, Color Club Pucci-Licious, and an unamed neon pink from Cosmetic Arts.  I then splattered with China Glaze Electric Pineapple.  I alternated which way I applied the gradient on the nail alternating between starting at the cuticle with the pink then flipping the sponge and starting with the green at the cuticle on the next nail.

Ocean Blue Nails

I am in love with this mani!  I think the colors are so pretty together and it is very summery to me.  The pictures of this do not do it justice, it so pretty in real life.

I used Zoya Charla and then did a glitter gradient with Orly Here Comes Trouble.

New Look

Hey everyone just an obvious heads up, I changed the look of my blog a little bit.  Hopefully it looks ok!

Another Thunder Up Mani!

Okay I have done yet another (but probably my last for a little while) OKC Thunder mani today.  I went with a Splatter  manicure today.  Not sure how much I like this one.  I hate where the blue and orange overlap...

I used Orly Dayglow as the base and splattered with LA Colors Color Craze silver (sorry I have no name for it but any silver will do), ULTA Blue Streak and OPI Y'all Come Back Ya Hear?.

Coral Bombshell Gradient

I finally got my hands on China Glaze Blonde Bombshell!  I passed this up several times and then when I couldn't find it anymore I wanted it.  I ended up scoring it at Sally's while they were having their 50% off clearance sale so I ended up paying $1.50 for it I think.

I did a glitter gradient with it using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Coral Reef for the base and then used Blonde Bombshell for the gradient.  I love this mani so much!

Acid Strawberries and A Mermaid Glitter Gradient

I have just a couple of random mani's today.

First off the acid strawberry nails, I don't know about the color combo here but the idea is kind of cool I think.

I used OPI Did It On Em', China Glaze Four Leaf Clover, and Orly Frolic.

Ok this next one I guess I will call a mermaid gradient.  I was just experimenting with a glitter gradient that would look "mermaidish".  I know that I used Sinful Colors Cinderella as the base, also China Glaze SnowGlobe, Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter and Sinful Colors Call You Later, oh and Pure Ice Heartbreaker.  I used the glitter gradient technique and just layered the different glitters.

Hope you all enjoyed sorry this was a bit of a random post.  I plan on trying something different to get a better mermaid gradient, I just have to find the right combination for me to achieve the look I am going for.

A Whimsical Mani

I was finally able to able to get my hands on a Revlon polish that I have been wanting for about 6 months, more if you consider that it is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann Glitter In the Air.  I love the pink and blue glitter mixture also the tiny blue glitter in this nail polish is beautiful, I don't know if it will show in the pics but it just makes the base color glow!

I used Orly Snowcone as a base with two coats of Whimsical on top.

Rose Garden Nails

I went with flowers again for this mani, but this one is a lot different looking than my other one.  I think that this kind of mani is very versatile and the two I have done on here so far show how different a look you can get from the same technique.

I used China Glaze Ahoy!, for the blue I used a half and half mixture of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away and Wet N Wild French White Creme, I also used a dark pink, light pink and green Art Deco striper polishes.

The first two pictures are direct sunlight, the last one is outside but in the shade it shows the colors on the nail a bit more accurately.

OKC Thunder NBA Finals Nails

I did another Thunder mani, this in honor of them making it to the NBA Finals!  I am so excited for the first game tomorrow.

It took me forever to figure out what to do for this one, I really liked the last one I did but I definitely didn't want to do the same thing as last time.  I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue (fyi one of my all time favorite blues if not my favorite), Color Club Tangerine Scream, and China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara.  For the glitter I just did a reverse gradient by starting at the base of my nail instead of the tip.

Jelly Sandwich Take Two

I have another jelly sammy today, I love this one so much!  It is nice and subtle but still has a little kick to it.  For this one I used OPI Don't Touch My Tutu and Wet N Wild Party of Five Glitters.

Don't Touch My Tutu is really sheer but builds to a nice milky white that covers the nail pretty well, I did three coats of it with one coat of Party of Five Glitters and then one more coat of Don't Touch My Tutu.

Space Nails

I have another tutorial today, this one is a manicure that looks really cool when done but pretty much anyone can do it.  Galaxy nails or space nails is what I have seen them called.  Read on to see how to get them!

Step 1: Paint your nails with a dark base, I would suggest black or a black that has a blue, purple or green shimmer to it.  I used Wet N Wild Morbid.

Step 2: Choose three or four colors to add dimension to the nails.  I went with neon's but you can use any kind of finish you want. I used Color Club Electro Candy, Volt of Light, and Pure Energy.   Try to use yellow, pink, blue, orange and purple.  Put some drops of each polish color onto a piece of foil (the polish doesn't dry out as fast on the foil) and use a cosmetic sponge to sponge one of the colors on each nail in random spots.  I did the pink first.

Step 3: Sponge on the second color in spots where you did not sponge the first color.  I used the blue next.

Step 4: Take the third color (the neon yellow for me) and apply it to any spots that are still showing the base and to cover up any strange looking areas where the other two colors meet.

Step 5:  Apply a light coat of a finer glitter to the nails and then take a glitter that has larger hexagonal pieces in it.  I used Wet N Wild Hallucinate for the all over glitter and China Glaze Techno for the larger glitters.  Put a few drops onto the foil and take a toothpick and randomly apply a few of the hexagonal glitters to the nails.  After that apply a top coat, clean up any polish around your nails and you are done!

A Pretty Ugly Mani?

Ok I have this China Glaze nail polish called Trendsetter, I personally love it.  It's a yellow based green with a pretty subtle shimmer in it.  But it is definitely not everyone's cup of tea haha.

I decided to pair it with China Glaze Material Girl, I have been wanting to do this combination just to see what it would look like.  Honestly I like it and it sort of reminds me of watermelon.
